Operations Manager – Hope Rising Farm Charitable Trust

Hope Rising Farm Charitable Trust, a faith-based charity in Ngaruawahia, seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead our team and oversee business functions.

 

Dedicated to empowering our community’s most vulnerable with the majority of our clients being youth and women through equine and farm-based programs. We aim to foster confidence and positive change in a peaceful, fun, farm environment.

 

The ideal candidate will possess operational management skills, preferably in the charity sector, and lead our passionate team devoted to supporting those in need.

This position (30 hours weekly) may expand to full-time, based on funding availability.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the role involves close collaboration with local groups, schools, funders, and our team.

Experience in fundraising and grant processes is preferred and while familiarity with farm life or equines is beneficial, it is not mandatory.

 

Key attributes for the Operations Manager position at Hope Rising Farm Charitable Trust:

Operational Management Experience:

Demonstrated experience in managing operations, preferably within the charity sector, with a strong understanding of organizational dynamics.

 

Leadership and Team Management: 

Ability to lead and motivate a small team, fostering a supportive and empowering environment while aligning team efforts with the Trust's mission.

 

Community Engagement and Relationship Building: 

Proven capability in establishing and maintaining relationships with local community groups, schools, funders, and stakeholders to further the Trust's objectives.

 

Fundraising and Grant Application Skills: 

Experience or familiarity with fundraising strategies and grant application processes, crucial for securing funding essential for the Trust's programs.

 

Passion for Empowering Vulnerable Individuals: 

Genuine passion and empathy for supporting vulnerable people, aligning with the Trust's mission to instill confidence and effect positive change in their lives.

 

Flexibility and Adaptability: 

Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and potentially transition from a 30-hour week to a full-time role based on funding availability and organizational needs.

 

Farm and Equine Knowledge (Preferred): 

Familiarity with farm life or an interest in equines would be beneficial to understand and support the programs and environment of the Trust.

 

Excellent Communication and Reporting Skills: 

Strong communication abilities to effectively consult with the Board of Trustees, stakeholders, and team members. Also, proficient in reporting to provide clear updates on operations and program outcomes.
