Vulnerable teens from Huntly College have attended the Hope Rising Farm Trust via our Gateway Programme. Students attended a 6 to 7-week programme and had a hands-on experience with horses, donkeys and farm life.
They had little or no experience around the horses on arrival but they learnt a variety of new skills, and gained some personal insights, through their interactions with the animals.
Rachel developed a good relationship with the students that encouraged and empowered them to try new experiences and stretch their comfort zones. In particular, I noticed their self-confidence increased and at the end of every session they were buzzing and talked at length about what they had experienced and learnt on the day.
Huntly College will continue sending students to the Hope Rising Farm Trust in the future.
I can sincerely recommend Hope Rising Farm to any school, or organisation.
